These are pics from our trip to the Kansas City Zoo today. It's not the greatest zoo. It has lots of really nice land and a cool train and tram, but not enough animals.
Fair warning, the last pics are of the lions having sex. I'd say that was certainly worth the price of admission.

The Storm

I'm no stranger to tornadoes and big thunderstorms, Texas definitely gets it's share. What's going to make them more fun here is the fact that we're on the third floor of an apartment building that sits on a hill overlooking the rest of the small town.
I don't recall ever seeing clouds like the ones in the first three pics. Those were directly overhead. The tornadoe sirens were going off, but it was another twenty minutes before the rain even started.
At one point I was afraid the winds would blow my motorcycle over. Nerdstar and I could probably pick up back up, but it would be hard. The only other worry I had was large hail. Thankfully the hail we got was small enough it didn't dent up the cars.
Now, two hours later there's a perfectly beautiful sunset.

Our apartment building is situated up on a hill. I must admit it's the best views I've ever had. I'm not sure these pics do it justice, I'll try to take more on a sunny day. I took these last night before the rain poured down.

Pets, The Kid, and Floods

The last few photos are of Barton Springs after all the rains we've had the past several days. Barton Springs is a pool that's about a quarter mile long that's part of a small river that is fed by spring water. The water is 68 degrees year round. We were there a week and a half ago and would have gone swimming if we'd had our swimsuits with us. What you can't see in the photos is the six foot wide sidewalk that borders the swimming area, because it's about five feet under water.

Fun with Nerdstar

Hello friends!
Nerdstar here, more photos of "combat action". Some of them were from the time that I "guest starred" with the new psyop. group that replaced the 308th. group on patrol. It was truly a mind-opening and sometimes eye-popping experience! I appreciate them letting me tag along!
